Αυτά τα υπέροχα σπιτάκια θα ράψω για τα Χριστούγεννα και ήθελα να μοιραστώ την ιδέα μου μαζί σας.

Crafty Christmas tutorial link-up

Qualche tempo fa, Laura di Lupin Handmade (creativa bravissima e mia prima fornitrice di feltro, tra le altre cose) ha avuto una simpatica idea che ha voluto condividere con le altre creative follower della sua pagina Facebook (tra cui la sottoscritta, ovviamente). Si tratta del primo Crafty Christmas link-up, e funziona così: ognuno dei partecipanti crea un tutorial di Natale che poi pubblicherà sul proprio blog in un giorno prestabilito (cioè oggi). A seguire, ad ognuno dei partecipanti verrà fornita da Laura la lista con i link di tutti i tutorial che hanno preso parte all'iniziativa, ed ognuno pubblicherà poi tale lista sul proprio blog, in modo da creare una rete gigante di link a craftosi tutorial di Natale. Carino, no? :-)
Il progettino con cui partecipo a questa bella cosa è veramente semplicissimo e di veloce esecuzione, ma allo stesso tempo caruccio caruccio, secondo me. È una decorazione chiudipacco a forma di casina, in feltro e bordura di pizzo, con una piccola taschina sul retro dove inserire un piccolo bigliettino d'auguri (o, volendo, il nome del destinatario del pacco).
A few weeks ago, Laura from Lupin Handmade (amazing crafter and my first felt supplier) shared a very lovely idea with all of her creative followers on her Facebook page: a Crafty Christmas tutorial link-up. Everyone who takes part to the link-up has to share a Christmas tutorial on his/her own blog today, so here's my project -- a very quick & easy one, but cute nonetheless: it's a tiny house gift tag holder, with a pocket on its back, pretty lace ribbon and a heart shaped wooden button.

È pensata come chiudipacco ma basta un nastrino in cima e diventa una decorazione per l'albero, uno spago da far passare per il camino ed ecco è una ghirlanda, o magari, perché no, può anche diventare un portachiavi... di casa, ovviamente ^_^

Although it's meant to be a gift tag holder, with a piece of ribbon it can easily turn into a Christmas tree decoration or a cute garland, or even a keyring... for you home keys, of course ^_^

Per creare queste casine ho utilizzato tutti materiali avanzati da lavori più grandi, quindi è anche un ottimo modo per riciclare piccoli pezzi di feltro e passamanerie.
Per creare una casina chiudipacco come questa occorrono:

❤ feltro: due pezzi di dimensioni massime 10x10cm per la casina e un rettangolo di 6x4cm per la tasca, nei colori natalizi che preferite (io per questa casina ho usato il rosso e il verde oliva), spesso 1 mm

❤ bordura di pizzo (8cm)

❤ bottoncino di legno a forma di cuore (1cm)

❤ imbottitura sintetica

❤ filo semplice da cucito nei colori del feltro + bianco

❤ ago, spilli, forbici

❤ carta e stampante per stampare le sagome in fondo a questo tutorial :-)

To make these houses I've used scraps of felt and ribbon, so this is also a good way to upcycle small pieces left from other bigger projects.

To make a house like this you'll need:

❤ felt: two pieces of 10x10cm for the house and a 6x4cm piece for the pocket; choose the colours you prefer (I've used red and moss green), 1mm thick

❤ a piece of lace ribbon (8cm)

❤ a wooden heart-shaped button (1cm)

❤ stuffing like polyfill

❤ simple sewing thread, same felt colours + white

❤ needle, pins, scissors

❤ paper and printer to print the templates at the end of this tutorial :-)

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ PROCEDIMENTO / INSTRUCTIONS ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

1) Stampa le sagome in fondo a questo tutorial e ritagliale. Fissa le sagome di carta sul feltro con alcuni spilli e ritaglia 2x casine e 1x rettangolo per la tasca.
2) Fissa il nastro di pizzo su una casina e cuci lungo il bordo superiore a punto filza con filo bianco.
3) Piega le estremità del nastro di pizzo sul retro della casina e cucile con pochi punti superficiali, senza trapassare il feltro. Cuci il bottoncino di legno sul fronte, sotto al nastro di pizzo.
4) Sulla seconda casina, fissa e cuci la tasca a punto indietro, lasciando aperto il bordo superiore. Usa filo dello stesso colore del feltro o di un colore contrastante (io ho usato filo rosso su feltro verde).

1) Print the templates full-size and cut them out. Pin the paper templates on felt and cut out 2x house pieces and 1x pocket piece.
2) Pin the lace ribbon on one house piece and sew it with white thread, using running stitch.
3) Fold the ends of the ribbon on the reserve side of the house and whipstitch them with a few stitches into the felt, not through it, to keep them in place.
4) On the second house piece, pin and backstitch the pocket, leaving the top open. Sew with matching colour thread or use a different one (I've used red thread on green felt).

5) Ritaglia una strisciolina di feltro (dello stesso colore della tasca), lunga 6cm e larga 1cm. Piegala a metà e fissala con uno spillo alla sagoma di casina con la tasca (sul rovescio - l'interno della casa). 6) Cuci il camino alla casa lungo il bordo inferiore con un paio di punti a sopraggitto, senza trapassare il feltro.
5) Cut a 6x1cm stripe of felt (same colour as the pocket), fold it and pin it to the house piece with the pocket, on the reverse (which is going to be the inside of the finished house)
6) Whipstitch the chimney to the house with a couple of stitches into the felt, not through it.

7) Sovrapponi le due casine e cuci a punto festone con filo rosso, partendo dal bordo inferiore della casa. Inizia a cucire dal centro della base e lascia 1cm di apertura per inserire l'imbottitura (imbottisci con piccoli batuffoli di lana sintetica partendo dagli angoli appuntiti; puoi aiutarti con un attrezzo lungo e dalla punta arrotondata, come il manico di un pennello, per esempio).
7) Overlap the front and back house pieces and sew together with blanket stitch and red thread, starting from the middle of the bottom border. Leave a 1cm open gap and stuff (push small puffs of polyfill gently to the pointy ends first, using a rounded tool like the handle of a brush).

How to sew through the chimney

a) Infila l'ago attraverso il camino sul retro della casetta; non tirare il filo completamente, lascia un piccola asola;
b) Infila l'ago attraverso il camino sul fronte della casetta, proprio sopra al punto dove esce il filo;
c) Fai passare l'ago nell'asola sul retro della casetta e tira verso l'alto.
a) Poke the needle through the chimney on the back of the house; don't pull the thread completely, but keep a little loop;
b) poke the needle again on the front of the house, right above the point where the thread comes out;
c) Let the needle go through the loop on the back and pull upward.

TA-DA! Casina pronta :-) Semplicissima!
Ne ho fatte anche un paio dai colori marroncini, sembran quasi dei biscotti :-)
TA-DA! Tiny house ready :-) Easy peasy!
I've also made a few of these in brown and neutral colours, they look like cookies to me :-)

Infine, ho pensato fosse carino presentare le casine su di un bel pacco regalo... e così è nata questa gift wrapping idea, anche lei semplicissima e cuoriciosa, tanto per restare in tema.

Occorrente:

❤ carta da pacchi;

❤ una striscia di carta bianca larga 3cm. La lunghezza dipende dalle dimensioni del vostro pacchetto; misuratelo con un metro da sarta e aggiungete alla striscia 1 cm (per far sovrapporre le estremità della striscia);

❤ una fustella a cuore, baker's twine (lo spago rosso e bianco) e nastro a scacchi gingham.

And finally, I thought it would be nice to show you these houses on a nicely wrapped gift... so this gift wrapping idea came out, which is very simple and easy, just like the houses (and it has hearts, too).

You'll need:

❤ kraft paper;

❤ a stripe of white paper, 3cm wide. The lenght depends on the dimensions of the package, so measure it and add 1cm to the stripe (to be able to overlap the ends of the stripe);

❤ a heart craft punch, baker's twine and gingham ribbon.

Dopo aver incartato il mio regalo nella carta da pacchi (riciclata!), ho aggiunto la striscia di carta precedentemente forata con la fustella a cuore incollandone assieme le estremità con una goccia di colla a caldo. Poi ho fatto passare il baker's twine attraverso il camino della casetta e l'ho legato semplicemente attorno al pacco, fissandolo con un nodo sul retro e una goccia di colla a caldo (sulla striscia di carta, non sul pacco); quindi ho aggiunto il nastro gingham, che ho fissato semplicemente come la striscia di carta. Non ho attaccato nulla al pacco perché in questo modo chi riceve il dono può sfilare facilmente la decorazione senza dover per forza tagliare i nastri per aprire il pacchetto.
Infine, tre bastoncini di cannella legati con del baker's twine, inseriti dentro ad una borsina assieme al pacco regalo, daranno una piacevole profumazione natalizia al vostro dono :-)
I've wrapped my gift in kraft paper (recycled!) and added the heart-punched stripe with just a drop of hot glue on the ends. I've then wrapped the baker's twine through the house's chimney and around the package; I've knotted the ends and hot glued it to the white paper stripe (not to the kraft paper). Finally I've added the gingham ribbon, which I've hot glued just like I did with the paper stripe. I haven't glued the decorations on the kraft paper to make them be easily removed without cutting anything.
To add a final touch of Christmas-ness, just put your gift into a bag along with three cinnamon sticks, wrapped together with some baker's twine. It'll both look and smell wonderfully :-)
